I am reposting this information about opiate medications for others who are either made to feel bad for taking medication or maybe have some preconceived notions themselves. Thank you to edsinfo for the information!

  1. Thanks so much for the referral – more for the sake of “the cause”, than for myself. It’s just a drop in the bucket compared to the flood of misinformation spread by the media, but I’m hoping it might convince a few people to reconsider their prejudices against opiates.

    • Actually I’ve been meaning to thank you. I tried explaining until I was blue in the face, but it took reading that post for M- to understand that I NEED the medicine I take. He even apologized afterwards (it is usually a cold day in hell when he truly apologizes) for thinking that I just wanted a high (even though I told him time and again that they don’t make me high and then he says “well you never read me that before” lol- I felt like banging my head against a wall). Anyway, that was enough to clear up his misconceptions and our relationship is so much better because of it. I have my best friend, my family and (unfortunately) my caregiver (who really cares) back. So, no really, THANK YOU!
